Proverbs 26:11 "A dog returns to his vomit, like a fool returns to his folly."
A close friend put that verse in his own words. "We return to the familiar, even if the familiar is wrong." (Steve Hix) He credits his change to a single moment and I'm not going to tell you. The key to know longer returning to the vomit is change. How? What I observed as a pastor for 37 plus years, one has to be ready to hear from God. Also a loved one was praying for that person. So I believe the Holy Spirit moves one to change. Now, you just have to want to agree, and then the healing and healthy life can begin. The greatest change is how we think. Romans 12:2 says and I paraphrase, . . .by the renewing of the your mind. Changing bad behavior, or habit, starts in the mind. Over a weekend ask the lord to help you change the way you think. and check out Philippians chapter 4.
